"Bob’s one of the great guitarists and I’ve heard him play in a bunch of different styles and he excels at all of them. Great tone, solid time, and choice notes are his modus operandi.."

" I've been playing with Bob for about 15 years. I can't think of anyone who can cover more styles from Jazz to country to rock to blues and even some classical. I've been playing guitar since I was 13 years old and I've never been more thrilled to be on the same stage with another guitarist as I am with Bob. He is also a very good singer.  Bob is also a prolific songwriter in the Jazz genre.  Bob Veltre would be an asset to any musical group that he might join."

.... like many of us, I picked up a cheap guitar when I was in junior high, and managed to learn enough chords to accompany myself on some songs.  But always thought that SOMEDAY I'd pick the guitar back up and really learn to play it.  I heard Bob play guitar in a local club and asked if he'd teach me to play 'jazz'.  That was a little over a year ago.  Since that time I've progressed quite rapidly and am now able to play Chord/melody versions of quite a few standard tunes.  I knew I was in for a challenge early on when I brought a recording of 'over the rainbow' to Bob with a hope that someday I'd be able to play it.  When he said 'you can play that now' I doubted it.  But it's now a part of my play list.  Bob is patient enough with the parts that I learn slowly, and knows when to push to keep me moving forward and digging deeper into the 'modern' harmonies.  He teaches using notes and tabs, and sometimes emails me a video of him playing a song I'm working - close up of the guitar neck - to help with some of the more complicated parts I'm working.  He's a great teacher - I'm continuing to progress especially with the chord melodies and look forward to my lessons.
