Bob Veltre (also known as Bobby or Robert Veltre) is an American jazz guitarist and music educator. He is best known as a founding member of The John Darst Trio and for his collaborative work within regional jazz and blues scenes.

    Early Life and Education
Born in 1955 on Long Island, just outside of New York City, Veltre picked up the guitar at the age of 11. He pursued an extensive education in music and higher learning, attending Long Beach High School in New York before studying across several institutions. His academic journey included studies at SUNY Old Westbury, De Anza College, the College of Marin, and Northland Pioneer College.

    Musical Career
Veltre spent decades honing his craft as a versatile jazz and blues musician. In 2009, he teamed up with guitarist John Darst and bassist Chris Long in Arizona to form The John Darst Trio. The ensemble gained traction performing a mix of traditional country, blues, and bop jazz.
In addition to his live trio work, Veltre has shared various performance recordings, including tracks like "You Don't Miss Your Water" alongside collaborators Mike Ferlisi and Larry Filson. He also releases independent music, including his 2023 instrumental single "Crystal," available on Apple Music.

    Teaching and Personal Life
Based in Show Low, Arizona, Veltre balances his active performance schedule with a passion for mentorship. He works locally as a guitar instructor, passing down jazz theory and technique to a new generation of musicians.
